David Southwell

Landscape Punk

David Southwell works as writer, folklorist and landscape punk. A reformed author of bad books, he now follows the advice given to him by J.G. Ballard to: ‘Concentrate on place, nothing without a sense of it is ever any good.’ You can often find him talking about ghost soil and the open resource of the lost counties of Hookland and Repton at literary festivals and art galleries. Involved with psychic quests since 1989, he will be speaking on ‘Questing The Ghost Soil’, looking at Hookland, how questing can bring us into a closer relationship with the mysteries of place and why re-enchantment as resistance is vital to these times.
